Service Animals for Children with Autism Meet Our Service Dogs

Our service dogs are carefully selected by our highly qualified dog trainer. If a puppy passes the standardized service animal evaluation, it can become a new member of the DogsInVests family!

Becoming a Service Dog for Autism

The process of becoming a service dog is a long one. After spending some time with our staff, the puppy will go home with a puppy raiser. Our puppy raisers are carefully chosen and given specific instructions on the training requirements to ensure each dog reaches their full potential.

Service Dog Training Courses

Over the course of 12-18 months, our dogs partake in weekly, specialized service dog training. During the training process, a dog is matched with a child in need. Each child within our program has unique needs, making it imperative they get paired with a dog who can best help with their unique situation. Every dog trains side-by-side with their human to make certain both parties are compatible companions. By the time our dogs graduate their adult beginner class, the dog is a thoroughly trained service dog, ready to be a helpful companion.
