New Changes

Thank you Thank you Thank you...

We have so many to thank for their help during Autism Awareness Month in April. First, thank you to all our supporters who donated to our Service Dog Training Fund Campaign. Second, thank you to Maya P. and Trestin S. for providing stories of their journeys with Ace and Buddy during our campaign. It was wonderful for them to share their experiences with us. Next, thank you to the Palmyra Area Chamber of Commerce for featuring DogsInVests as their Spotlight Business for the months of March and April. Finally, thank you to our area experts, Childhood Autism Treatment Team, Wisconsin Independent Learning College and On Purpose Psyche for sharing information about their organizations and autism facts with our followers.

Give Back Event...

Another thank-you to everyone who made purchases during our Kendra Scott Give Back Event. I’m sure everyone will look fabulous in their purchases. Our local Kendra Scott store in Brookfield has been a great supporter of DogsInVests since the beginning. They were generous enough to donate a beautiful jewelry set to our Open House last year and continued their support this year with the Give Back Event. We are truly grateful.

Welcome Daisy & Evie...

In February we added two new members to the DogsInVests team. Daisy & Evie started their service dog journeys and are currently being trained and cared for by puppy raisers Michelle H. and Jody S. The two sisters are beginning to learn the basics like sit, stay, come, down, off and touch. They both have sweet dispositions. Evie tends to be more adventurous and Daisy is a bit more cautious.

The Rest of The Gang...

Shout out to Ace who celebrates his 2nd birthday May 19th. Cleo, Buddy and Ace continue their training. We are all missing the weekly training sessions at DogsInVests but hopefully the gang will be able to reunite soon. Our awesome volunteer puppy raisers Bob, Amanda, Barb, Jody and Paul continue their work at home. We cannot thank all these wonderful volunteers enough for their continued dedication during this time of uncertainty. We continue to look for additional puppy raisers as we plan for the future. We unfortunately had to cancel a Puppy Raiser Information session in March due to COVID-19 and are hoping to reschedule soon. Looking Forward to Summer...

We are excited to have more Facebook followers thanks to your response to our Giving Tuesday Facebook Follow on May 5th. Thank you so much for following us and sharing with your friends. We’ve received some great pictures for our DogsInVests Calendar Contest. We’re still accepting entries, please go to our website and send us your artwork today.

DogsInVests had planned to attend several events this summer to raise our public profile. Unfortunately, many events have been cancelled, postponed or are now virtual. These events are great opportunities to meet some of our wonderful dogs. They also help support DogsInVests and other great Non-Profit Organizations. The first virtual event we are participating in is Pet Walk MKE Virtual Vendor Village on June 20, 2020. This wonderful annual event benefiting the Wisconsin Humane Society is usually held at Milwaukee’s Lakefront. This year please support the event virtually to support the Wisconsin Humane Society and a variety of great vendors.
